Tadao Ando - Endeavors

This catalogue helps understand the elegant and simple work of this architect, throughout 70 of his most beautiful projects. It is enriched by 3 portfolios with photographs, his pencil drawings, and, for the first time reproduced, his travel books.

Tadao Ando (1947 - ) is a Japanese architect, known internationally for his mastering of light, his minimalist contructions, the formalism of his plans and his geometric compositions.

"I don't know if there is anything universal about my work, but I tell myself that, at the very lest, I must design buildings that touch the spirit of those who live in and around them."

Rewarded many times, including by the prestigious Pritzker price in 1995, he now works on many monumentos projects, including the museum of the Pinault Collection, in the former Bourse de Commerce (commodity exchange) of Paris.

This catalogue is published on the occasion of the exhibition on Tadao Ando at the Centre Pompidou, from October 10th to December 31th 2018.
